Execution: This was written as a score to be performed with two fellow students, whose names appear in the Flash animation.

Execution: I wrote a small program in Java that takes a .txt file input and converts it to full character-by-character typing instructions. The text linked above was created from Project Gutenberg's plain text copy of Gertrude Stein's Tender Buttons.

Execution: Fifteen fellow students gathered in the Philadelphia ICA with copies of John Cage's Silence. Using Nicecast, I broadcast Frances Marie-Uitti's recording of "Lecture on Nothing," to which the readers were instructed to read along. I then cut off the readers' individual streams one at a time over the course of the 45-minute text. When a reader's audio feed was cut, he or she was instructed to follow his or her nearest neighbor in the gallery. Thus, what began as a fairly synchronized performance slid into near cacophony. The Christian Marclay-curated sound art exhibit Ensemble can be heard in the background.
